Will Ferrell Says "I Do"
Will Ferrell has signed on to star in the romantic comedy "I Do: How to Get Married and Stay Single," reports Pajiba.
According to Pajiba: “Word comes from The Hollywood Cog that Ferrell is developing a romantic comedy that’s a remake of a little known French film from 2006 called, 'I Do: How to Get Married and Stay Single,' which starred Charlotte Gainsbourg.”
“The remake is being developed by New Regency and WAM Films, which is headed by Alain Chabat, who specializes in the French-to-English comedy market. He also came up with the original idea for the French version.”
Ferrell will star as a 40-something bachelor pressured by his mother and seven sisters to settle down and get married, prompting him to ask a friend's sister to leave him at the altar so that everyone will leave him alone.
The remake is still in early stages with a screenwriter being sought to pen the script.
Ferrell is still in post-production on his summer entry, “The Other Guys,” from his frequent collaborator Adam McKay. The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg.
“The Other Guys” will be released August 6, 2010.
