A Subway Playground

Now this is crazy....but maybe not so crazy:

From the Freakonomics Blog and the Pop-Up City blog:

"It’s officially called a ‘transfer accelerator’ by Dutch railway maintenance company ProRail, but everyone else would say it’s a slide. An awesome slide. Installed next to a stairway at the newly renovated railway station Overvecht in the city of Utrecht, the slide offers travelers the opportunity to quickly reach the railway tracks when they’re in a hurry. But above all, the slide is a great instrument to make the city more playful. The ‘transfer accelerator’ was designed by Utrecht-based firm HIK Ontwerpers, and installed as the final piece of the renovation of the Overvecht railway station."

Could it work in New York? Probably not, but quite an interesting development.

TeenNick at Night is "Doug" Funnie

Great having "Doug" on TV again. Especially the episode "Doug's Cool Shoes," in which "Doug feels inferior because he doesn't have awesome new shoes, Sky Davis Inflatable Air Jet, like everyone else. That is, until he meets the real Sky Davis." Which is awesome. As are Skeeter's reversible sneakers.

TeenNick is airing some of the 90's best cartoons once again for all us older kids who relished them back in the day. "Doug," "Clarissa Explains It All," "All That" and "Keenan and Kel" are currently airing from midnight to 2 am. More to come in the future, considering Nick has shows like "Rugrats," "Hey Dude," "Salute Your Shorts," "Alex Mack" and more in their vault.
