Bill Murray Has a "Passion Play"

Bill Murray will replace British thespian Toby Kebbell as a murderous mobster in "Passion Play," reports Production Weekly.

According to Production Weekly: “Bill Murray has replaced Toby Kebbell as murderous mobster Happy Shannon in Mitch Glazer's 'Passion Play,' now filming in New Mexico.”

"Passion Play" follows a down-and-out trumpet player (Mickey Rourke) who finds redemption in the form of an angel/caged circus freak (Megan Fox). The dramatic thriller is set in 1950s Los Angeles. Murray plays the ruthless gangster, Happy Shannon.

While there are no details why Kebbell left the production. The good news is that Murray is familiar with Glazer, who wrote “Scrooged," in which the actor starred.

I haven’t heard much about this project, but it will be interesting to see how Murray plays the role. He’s one of my favorite actors, so any project in which he is involved piques my interest. Along with the fact that the film also boasts another stop on the revived career express for Mickey Rourke, this one could be a winner.

Mitch Glazer wrote and is directing the production.
