Trailergasm of the Day

Today's trailergasm goes straight out to my boy Dillion Tedesco holding it down in the nation's capital, much like Daniel Criag holds down some aliens in this bad ass trailer.

Directed by Jon Favreau this film looks to be one of the most enertinaing of 2011 and the trailer does not disappoint. The film clearly wants to hold true to its Western roots, and while it won't be the gritty variety of lets say "Deadwood", the film is as much a Western story as it is a science fiction one.

The film has an absolutely stellar cast including Harrison Ford as the harsh town leader as well as Sam Rockwell, the super hot Olivia Wilde, Clancy Brown and Paul Dano. Oh, and it's exec produced by Steven Spielberg, so get your six shooters and laser ready.

The invasion begins July 29, 2011.

Lindelof To Re-Write "Alien" Prequel

"Lost" co-producer Damon Lindelof is set to rewrite the "Alien" prequel for 20th Century Fox says Deadline.

Lindelof met with director Ridley Scott about the rewrite job on Jon Spaihts's script and the meeting led to a take that could become its ow free-standing science fiction film. A decision will be made when Lindelof turns in the script.

Scott Free is producing. Lindeloff is currently writing the "Star Trek" sequel with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the trio also penned next Summer's "Cowboys and Aliens" which is currently shooting.

Lindeloff is the man and anyone who watched "Lost" knows he's a genius. Great move by Ridley Scott.

Olivia Wilde Rides With "Cowboys & Aliens"

Olivia Wilde ("Tron Legacy") is in negotiations to star in the comic adaptation "Cowboys & Aliens" for Dreamworks Pictures and Platinum Studios, says Heat Vision.

According to Heat Vision: Olivia Wilde is in negotiations to star opposite Daniel Craig in the sci-fi Western “Cowboys & Aliens,” which Jon Favreau is directing for DreamWorks Studios.

The sci-fi Western explores what would happen if the traditional Old West enemies--cowboys and Native Americans--found the prairie attacked by aliens in mid-1800s Arizona.

Wilde will play a character named Ella who joins up with a mysterious gunslinger (Daniel Craig) trying to prevent the invasion. Craig is taking over the role from Robert Downey Jr., who dropped out in January.

Favreau will direct from a script by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof. Kurtzman, Orci, Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg and Brian Grazer are producing.

This film has a lot of great talent attached to it already, and adding Wilde to the mix will be a good move as well. The actress has a busy year ahead of her, with the release of “Tron Legacy” coming later this year as well.

The script should be excellent with a writing team like Kurtzman, Orci and Lindelof. The trio was responsible for last summer’s “Star Trek,” and Lindelof is the executive producer of “Lost."

“Cowboys & Aliens” will shoot later this year.
